Without hesitation I would recommend the Paul Carpenter Golf Academy. 5 of us with handicaps ranging from 10 to 36 had a daily 2 hour group lesson for 6 days.
Each day was carefully thought out and the program tailored to both group and individual needs.
Everybody received personal attention and video feedback when required. As importantly, Paul ran each session with enthusiasm, encouragement and professionalism. In addition, Paul arranged our accommodation,
Car hire and three rounds of golf in partnership with Visit Murcia Golf. All we had to do was to book our flights! Thank you Paul for a great week, we all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
"I have received many lessons from Paul during his tenure at Royal Troon Golf Club all of which were thoroughly enjoyable. Paul has the capacity to apply a good sense of humour together with a full knowledge of the mechanics of the golf swing to make lessons not only instructive but also good fun.
Paul communicates his thoughts very clearly and in an uncomplicated manner. In my case, having played or attempted to play the game for over 50 years, he didn't advise me to make radical changes which were outside my physical ability but worked with me on the major changes which were essential to improve my game. He is very skilled in the use of technology, particularly video analysis, to demonstrate the changes required to one's golf swing. This visual image of the changes necessary was most useful to me in that it gave a clear illustration of the verbal instruction. He also reinforces each swing thought with a series of "drills" which provides a simple routine to help with the changes. All-in-all each lesson with Paul renewed my enthusiasm for the game and gave me much enjoyment reflecting on our discussion and his advice.
Paul also uses technology to give advice on the type of clubs and specification most suitable for you. This is a very worthwhile and interesting session which is independent from any particular Club manufacturer.
I can highly recommend Paul Carpenter as a very skilled golf instructor in all aspects of the game."

“On behalf of ClubGolf Scotland Ltd and the Golf Foundation, I would like to introduce and recommend PGA Professional Paul Carpenter in making the game of golf more accessible to children from all backgrounds and circumstances.
Working with the National Programme, we strongly believe that by offering children a pathway into golf so they can enjoy the positive benefits of the game it offers them, we can also make a huge difference to the future security and health of golf as a sport and by using dedicated Professionals such as Paul, then we are on our way in achieving our goal.
Paul was instrumental in the children from the Troon Primary School's (120) having a fantastic day with coaching at this year's British Amateur Championship. The message coming back from all the kids was that they had a fantastic time and would rather be hitting golf balls than just about anything else.
Paul Carpenter has a great rapport with the children and delivers his sessions where they learn about the basics of the game in a safe and friendly environment, with an emphasis on FUN and the social aspects of the sport.
Golf is about providing the opportunity to enjoy the game and breaking down social and economical barriers wherever possible and Paul's venture with MAP Golf & Leisure fits into the National Junior Golf Strategy in allowing access for children & adults. I think the scale of the venture and the commitment of all involved will produce a wonderful advertisement for the game."

“I was first introduced to Paul during junior group lessons being run at Royal Troon. This was early 2010; I was 14 years old with a handicap of 7. As a result of quick improvements in my game I was soon booking one to one lessons.
The way in which Paul communicates his thoughts and ideas are very clear, concise and easily understood. The video analysis is exceptionally good. Paul adapts his coaching to all age levels in a fun and informative manner and I have thoroughly enjoyed my coaching so far.
Importantly, he also has a deep knowledge of the rules of golf, the etiquette and a profound understanding of the golf swing.
In 2012 I was part of the Kilmarnock Barassie Junior Team, winning both the Ayrshire Team Match Play and Ayrshire Team Stroke Play. The highlight of the year was my individual success becoming Junior Club Champion of Royal Troon and winning the Kilmarnock Barassie Junior Scratch Match Play.
He helped me achieve success this season and I have no doubt he can help you too."

“I had the pleasure to work with Paul during my county training years at Gleneagles. He was a delight to be coached by, so enthusiastic and inspirational."

“Paul took control from the outset, providing a detailed plan in the initial meeting and making the team at McEvoy very comfortable with the event format. Leading up to the event, Paul was in constant communication, which was very reassuring. He continued to show his professionalism on the night of the event, meeting and greeting our clients and making them feel at ease immediately. Paul developed a clever format for golf indoors using all of his the state-of-the-art equipment, making the night fun and informative. Our clients thoroughly enjoyed taking part in all the activities which included team building golf games, longest drive, nearest the pin and even a team golf quiz. The prizes were excellent and even included our own company logo. I would recommend any company to a corporate event ran by Paul. It is a brilliantly run event, keeping the clients fully entertained and mixing them together to learn and enjoy golf in a fun, relaxed and friendly manner."

Over the past 5 years, I have received numerous golf lessons from Paul covering the full swing and the short game and these sessions were both beneficial and enjoyable. I found Paul to be well versed on the biomechanics of the golf swing and process up to date knowledge and expertise on the visual aide, which is so beneficial to pupils understanding of what is required. Like all gifted teachers, he also has an exceptional eye for spotting imperfections within a swing. These attributes coupled with his relaxed style of communication make Paul an excellent exponent of both the science and art of golf instruction to players of all standards."

“I took up golf in 2007 and for the past four years Paul Carpenter has patiently coached me. He has so many skills at all levels of golf and has helped me progress, encouraging me to better understand this complex game. Since then my handicap has been reduced by eleven points!! I wish him all the best in his new venture and can't wait to be coached again with his new ideas and technology in Spain."
Ladies Troon Golf Club
Paul's teaching talents are exceptional, not only the thoughts of myself but many other members' have declared this also. He has built up a large client base over his period of time at Troon, male, female and junior to senior age groups .In addition to all of this, what stands out for me is his organisation and execution of group sessions. I play in the Greenlees Team for my Club (we finished 6th out of 9 teams 2 years ago) I asked Paul to develop a few of the players' to help with their game during matchplay situations. During these sessions Paul covered all aspects of their game... long, short, bunkers, putting and mind set. Paul did not fail to deliver as those sessions were FANTASTIC, we all felt the benefit as we finished Runners-up the next year!!!!!"
Troon Ladies' Greenlees Captain
I have been coached by Paul for the last 2 years and he has made a huge difference to my overall game.
He is able to give constructive advice in a positive way. I have had a few lessons from different individuals over the years but his teaching methods seem to work for me.
The practice notes that he sends me after every lesson really help me to focus and allow me to improve In between lessons and take what I have learned to the practice ground.
He is always really enthusiastic and takes a genuine interest in helping me progress and improve.
Thanks Paul and would recommend to anyone considering lessons.
